Almost everyone I know that are getting up there in age wants to go back in time to look and feel young again. They think of plastic surgeries or botox treatments on the regular and this, I think, is not good. First of all, plastic surgeries cost a ton and if you take the time to research, they just look fake and unnatural. Same with botox, some people I know that have had this done look so much worse than their natural “aging” look.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t go ahead and have these treatments done, it’s your call but I want you to look at natural methods first before deciding which route you will take. There are several ways to look younger without having to spend thousands of dollars and these are very easy to do at home. Here they are.

Live a healthy lifestyle

First of all, you should try to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Keeping stress at a low level and getting the right amount of sleep can do wonders to your skin. One of the things that can accelerate the worsening of your skin is high levels of stress and not getting enough sleep.

Another thing that you should always take care of is your eating habits. A well balanced diet that provides you with all the nutrients that you need as well as drinking a lot of water instead of sodas and other beverages can be very effective in keeping your skin looking young.

If you are a coffee drinker such as myself, you should try to minimize it and drink cocoa instead. Cocoa can be very beneficial to the skin as it can improve blood circulation and protect your skin from the sun.

Skin care products that are advertised to help with skin rejuvenation do work, however, they will work better and be more efficient if you lay down the groundwork by living a healthy lifestyle.

Use sunscreen every time you will be out in the sun for an extended period of time

Seriously, a lot of people I know are very reckless when it comes to protection from the sun and later on, they will complain of skin flaking and other problems. Applying sunscreen is one of the most effective ways to combat aging as it will protect your skin from the UV rays of the sun and prevent your skin from getting damaged.

However, don’t think that using sunscreen regularly will immediately show its effects. Sunscreen is more of a preventative solution instead of treatment. If your skin is already damaged, it will take a lot of time for the effects of the sunscreen to show.

Wash your face regularly but don’t overdo it

Washing your face before you go to sleep or when you get home after a time outside is a good way to keep it clean and looking good. However, don’t wash your face every time you have a chance as this can wash away the natural oils and moisture on your face that helps protect against wrinkles and other skin problems. Also, use soap with moisturizers as this can help the skin glow and become softer.
